Quick answer: A battery icon estimates remaining electrical charge; a droplet, tank or percentage beside a liquid symbol estimates e-liquid status. The two values do not fall at the same rate. Screen readings are estimates generated by the device—not direct laboratory measurements—so the draw pattern, temperature, sensor design and model logic can affect what appears. If the screen conflicts with heat, leaking, auto-firing, damage or a burnt/chemical smell, trust the physical warning sign and stop using the device.
Why two percentages can look “wrong”
A rechargeable disposable contains two consumable resources: stored battery energy and prefilled e-liquid. Recharging restores the battery reading but does not refill e-liquid. A device can therefore show 100% battery and 20% liquid immediately after charging. Conversely, frequent short draws, cold conditions or screen-calculation lag can make the battery reading change differently from the liquid estimate.

When “0% liquid” may appear before vapor stops
A device may retain a small amount of liquid after its estimate reaches zero, but that is not a reason to keep drawing until it tastes burnt. The remaining liquid may not reach the wick evenly, particularly after side storage, temperature changes or repeated high-output draws. A dry, burnt or chemical taste is a stop signal. Do not open, refill or puncture a sealed disposable.
When the battery reading jumps after charging
Battery estimates can adjust after the device rests or connects to power. Use a suitable low-stress USB source if the manufacturer permits charging, keep the device visible on a nonflammable surface and disconnect it if it becomes unusually hot, damaged or wet. Charging cannot correct depleted liquid, a blocked airway, coil damage or an internal leak.
